Full Biography

Kate Sokolova joined Sanders and Parks as an associate to the firm’s civil litigation and insurance defense practice in February of 2020.

Prior to joining Sanders and Parks, Kate participated in an international and multicultural education beginning from Westminster International University in Uzbekistan. Fluent in Russian and English, Kate practiced as a commercial attorney prior to beginning her American legal studies.

Kate obtained her Juris Doctors degree at the Arizona James E. Rogers College of law in 2015, graduating cum laude. After passing the bar that same year, Kate continued her education at Duke School of Law, pursuing an L.L.M. degree with an emphasis on the legal support of startup ventures and investment financing. As part of her L.L.M., Kate provided legal aid to a startup company, helping it with both general and startup specific legal operations.

Following her graduation from Duke, Kate spent a year clerking for a Pima County Superior Court Judge, Honorable Sarah Simmons.  She then moved on to practice at a small plaintiff’s firm, representing clients in Phoenix and Illinois in cases involving complex issues and various aspects of law.

Ryan P. Sandstrom

Ryan Sandstrom joined Sanders & Parks in 2015 and he focuses his practice in civil litigation in the areas of insurance litigation, insurance coverage, insurance bad faith, personal injury, and business law. In addition to Mr. Sandstrom’s insurance coverage, defense, and personal injury practice, he regularly acts as corporate counsel for large and small entities on various business transactions, internal operations and governance, and litigation matters. Mr. Sandstrom currently serves as the co-chair of the firm’s Commercial Practice Group.


Full Biography

Mr. Sandstrom earned his Juris Doctorate degree from Creighton University School of Law with honors, where he was the recipient of the Dean’s Academic Scholarship, the Werner-Robertson Scholarship, and the Lillis, William and Kathleen Scholarship.  During law school, Mr. Sandstrom was a member of the Creighton Law Review Board of Editors, as well as a member of the National Trial Team, National Arbitration Team, and National Moot Court Team.  He was the Champion of the Creighton Trial Competition, and a Regional Finalist in the Texas Young Lawyers National Trial Competition.

After law school, Mr. Sandstrom received the American Board of Trial Advocates Award in recognition of excellence in trial skills.  He also received the David A. Svoboda Award in recognition of outstanding oral advocacy and trial skills.  Mr. Sandstrom is an Associate Author and Editor of the Arizona Tort Law Handbook, and frequently publishes law review and trade journal articles on various aspects of insurance law.

As a former insurance salesman and in-house attorney with one of the largest insurance underwriters in the United States, Mr. Sandstrom has a unique and thorough understanding of insurance law.

Mr. Sandstrom is also a volunteer leader with his local church.  He is married with four children.  Mr. Sandstrom is also fluent in Russian.

Ms. Breemes also represents individuals, corporations, institutions and insurance companies throughout the United States in a wide range of civil litigation matters, with a focus on insurance bad faith, insurance defense and commercial litigation.

In addition, Ms. Breemes represents employers before state and federal administrative agencies and in federal and state court actions involving Title VII, Title IX, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).

Ms. Breemes earned her Juris Doctor and Masters of Business Administration from the University of South Dakota. During law school, Ms. Breemes was an editor of the South Dakota Law Review.
