William earned his B.A. in Theology & Religious Studies and Politics in 2013 from Saint Mary’s College of California. William graduated from the James E. Rogers College of Law at the University of Arizona and received a certificate in International Trade and Business Law. While attending law school, William studied abroad in Rhodes, Greece with Tulane University and the Aegean Institute of the Law of the Sea and Maritime Law. William was a researcher for the Regulatory Science Consultative Service at the University of Arizona and participated in the Yaqui Human Rights Project as a student advocate. Prior to coming to Sanders & Parks, William worked in civil litigation and bankruptcy.

Mr. Eaves handles cases involving allegations of malpractice against physicians, attorneys and other professionals in Arizona.  Mr. Eaves also practices before various professional boards including the Arizona Medical Board and the State Bar of Arizona in matters involving administrative complaints against doctors, lawyers and other professionals.

Governmental Entities
Mr. Eaves represents the City of Phoenix as well as Maricopa County in medical malpractice cases, personal injury cases, and cases involving allegations of Constitutional violations. Mr. Eaves also has the honor of serving as a special prosecutor in complex criminal prosecutions from time to time.

  • Haught v. Sharma et al.: Mr. Eaves defended his clients in this month-long medical malpractice trial.  Plaintiffs asked for more than $16 million in damages during closing arguments.  The jury returned a defense verdict in favor of Mr. Eaves’ clients.
  • Elmore v. Thygerson; Mr. Eaves defended his client in a 3-week, medical malpractice, wrongful death, jury trial.  The jury returned a defense verdict in favor of Mr. Eaves’ client.
  • Heinemann v. Dacanay; Mr. Eaves defended his client in a 3-week, medical malpractice, jury trial. Plaintiffs settled the day before closing arguments.
  • State v. Rozenman; Mr. Eaves was appointed as special prosecutor in this Conspiracy to Commit First Degree Murder case which went to a 9-week jury trial.  The jury convicted the defendant who was sentenced to life in prison.
  • Milke v. Maricopa County; Mr. Eaves represents Maricopa County in this wrongful conviction case in which the Plaintiff claims she was wrongfully sent to death row for the murder of her 4 year old son.

Honors and Awards

  • Eaves was recognized by the Chief of the Phoenix Police Department for his efforts in targeting and prosecuting some of the toughest gangs in the City of Phoenix.
  • Eaves was the recipient of the Award of Excellence from the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.
  • Eaves was given the Theresa Hoover Volunteer Service Award for creating a team which remodeled seized drug houses so that they could be converted to homes for recovering addicts and their families.
  • Eaves was honored by the Arkansas Sheriff’s Association for his assistance with a summer camp for underprivileged children.

Molly B. Adrian is an associate at the firm, focusing primarily in the area of medical malpractice defense and civil litigation. Molly attended the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, graduating in 2015 with a certificate in Law, Science and Technology. During law school, she completed several externships in government offices and in the private sector, participated in the Law and Neuroscience Research Cluster, and received pro bono honors.  She was admitted to the State Bar of Arizona in October 2015.  Molly completed her undergraduate studies at Emory University in 2011 with a Bachelor’s in Economics and a minor in Anthropology.

Prior to joining Sanders & Parks, Molly worked at the Arizona Attorney General’s Office, providing counsel for various programs within the Arizona Department of Health Services.  As a fourth generation Arizonan, she has strong roots in the Valley and is proud to live and work in this community.

Ms. Jagelski advocates on behalf of individual healthcare providers, physician’s groups, hospitals and other types of healthcare providers, both in court and in State licensing boards. In the spring of 2018, Ms. Jagelski second-chaired a four-week medical malpractice jury trial which resulted in a full defense verdict. The plaintiffs sought over $16 million in damages.

Prior to joining Sanders & Parks, Ms. Jagelski practiced medical malpractice defense at a prominent law firm in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Ms. Jagelski attended the University of New Mexico School of Law, where she was a participant in the National Health Law Moot Court and was a manuscript editor for the Natural Resources Journal. Ms. Jagelski also participated in the Southwest Indian Law Clinic, a program which provides legal representation for indigent native peoples for various legal issues, and remains active in volunteering for similar programs.

Ms. Burgess is an experienced trial attorney who emphasizes health care, medical malpractice, product liability, professional liability, employment law, personal injury and municipal liability in her practice. She has tried cases in state and federal courts, on issues ranging from complex medical negligence claims, to police use-of-force and constitutional claims, and has argued appeals in Arizona’s Appellate and Supreme courts, and before the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. In 2013 she prosecuted a murder-for-hire case as a special prosecutor for the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office resulting in a conviction on all counts, and in 2014 she prosecuted a high profile fraud matter, also as a special prosecutor. She serves as a Judge Pro Tem in the Maricopa County Superior Court, and also acts as a mediator for settlement conferences.

In the healthcare field, Ms. Burgess counsels and represents individual physicians and chiropractors, as well as hospitals, group homes, behavioral health providers, nurses and paramedics. In addition to litigation, she handles representation of healthcare providers before their licensing boards and provides counseling to clients to help them avoid litigation when possible. Ms. Burgess also regularly represents public entities, in various tort and civil rights litigation matters. She has handled cases involving public transit, accident, roadway design, police and detention officers’ use of force, civil rights, employment, personal injury, prison break and wrongful death claims for various municipalities. She has been an expert witness regarding notice of claim issues.

Ms. Burgess, a firm Shareholder and Director since 2000, is a member of Sanders & Parks’ management team, serving as the firm’s Secretary/Treasurer. She earned her Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center, in 1991. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in American Studies, cum laude, from Wellesley College, in 1988. While at Georgetown, she was a member of the Georgetown Journal of Legal Ethics. She was admitted to practice law in the State of Virginia in 1991, and Arizona in 1993. Following law school, Ms. Burgess was an associate attorney in Washington, D.C., where she focused on health care and corporate transactional practice. Before joining Sanders & Parks, she spent a year as Judicial Clerk with the Honorable Susan A. Ehrlich of the Arizona Court of Appeals, Division One. She is licensed to practice law before the United States Court of Appeals, Fourth and Ninth Circuits.

Ms. Burgess has been recognized for her legal skills by her peers. Since 2013, she has been selected as a “Super Lawyer” in the area of healthcare law, and has been named to Arizona’s Top 50 Lawyers since 2015. Since 2014 she has also been selected as one of Arizona’s top 25 women attorneys. AZ Business Magazine listed Ms. Burgess as one of the top 100 lawyers in Arizona in 2015-2018, and she has been selected as one of Arizona’s Business Leaders.
