Sanders & Parks Attorney Kari B. Zangerle Named to "40 Under 40" List

Kari B. Zangerle, shareholder with the law firm of Sanders & Parks, has been named to the prestigious "40 Under 40" List, David J. Damron, Managing Director, has announced.

The "40 Under 40" List is compiled by the The Business Journal and recognizes the best young professionals in Arizona. In order to be included in this list, professionals must be professionals, nominated by their peers and ultimately selected on their merits by the The Business Journal's editorial review panel.

Kari developed a large practice in the healthcare field and became a shareholder of the firm at the early age of 32. She is currently the lead female attorney in the health law section, manages a very large book of business, and has several published cases to her credit.

Kari has strong feelings about her responsibility to be an outstanding attorney and an equally strong commitment to be involved with her community. "If leadership can be defined as the capacity to translate vision into reality, then business men and women have both a responsibility and a unique opportunity to play a major role in giving their time, talent, and financial support to major areas of need in their respective communities," she said.

And "giving back" to her community is something Kari certainly does. She serves as Chair of the Banner Health System Institutional Review Board, which oversees all medical research for Phoenix Children's Hospital, and she is also Chair of the Paradise Valley Hospital Institutional Review Board. In 2001, Kari was appointed by the Chief Justice of the Arizona Supreme Court to serve a seven year term as an examiner, Committee on Examinations of the Supreme Court of Arizona, which oversees the bar examination for all applicants to practice law in Arizona.

In addition, she is a member of the Sandra Day O'Connor Inn of Court, an active member of the Junior League of Phoenix, and serves as a committee member of the Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center's Candlelight Capers, which organizes the annual December ball to generate funds to benefit designated programs at the hospital.

She has served as a former board member of the Phoenix Chapter of the American Diabetes Association; former Chair of the Phoenix Regional Medical Center IRB; former Chair of the Young Lawyer's Division, Homeless Legal Assistance Project; and has been a volunteer with both the Family Legal Assistance Project and the Homeless Legal Assistance Project.

"This is a prestigious honor and a well deserved recognition for Kari," said David J. Damron, Managing Director. "Those of us who have worked with Kari on a daily basis have long recognized her exceptional contributions to our firm and to the community."
